5005 aluminum sheet plate
IntroductionThe 5005 aluminum sheet is similar to the 3003 with moderate strength and good corrosion resistance, widely used as conductors, cookers, dashboards, shells and architectural decorative parts, building materials and internal and external decoration materials, vehicles and other aspects. the alloy is hardenable to a significant degree by cold working, with 0.8%Mg content.
Specified Properties
These properties are specified for flat rolled product(sheet, plate and coil) in ASTM B209.

Features of 5005 aluminum sheet
Machinability: It has relatively fair machinability. Oil lubricants should be used for machining, except that very light cuts may be done dry.
Forming: It is readily formed at room temperature. Successive cold working decreases the form-ability.
Heat Treatment: It cannot be hardened by means of heat treatment. It does harden due to cold working.
Forging: It may be forged in the temperature range of 950 F down to 500 F
Cold Working: The alloy cold works readily and may be formed by drawing or spinning. However the amount of cold work imparted by spinning makes intermediate annealing necessary.
Hardening: Hardens only from cold working.
