5A05 is Al-Mg rust-proof aluminum alloy, the Mg content is high and its strength is low, it is similar with the 5A03 alloy. The plasticity of annealing is higher than that of semi-cold hardening.The corrosion resistance and weldability are both good, It is suitable for spot welding, atomic hydrogen welding, gas welding and argon arc welding. Its machinability, annealing state is very poor, semi-cold hardening state is still good.
The 5A05 alloy is usually used in the manufacture of welded pipes, welded fuel tanks and other liquid containers and other parts requiring high process plasticity, good corrosion resistance and moderate load.Wires are used as welding rods and rivets, which need to be anodized.In foreign countries, similar alloys (such as 5456) are used to make decks and high-strength structural parts.Storage tanks, pressure vessels, and Marine components.
Application
The 5A05 aluminum sheet is mainly used for the place, demanding high plasticity and good weldability, low load parts working in liquid or gas medium, such as oil tank, gasoline or lubricating oil pipe, various liquid containers and other small load parts made by deep drawing: wire used for rivets.
